We located the Torino online through the Auto Trader. After talking to the seller on the phone he emailed us these photos

The Torino was a "Gran Torino" which is what we wanted. The interior was also the black we wanted, and in excellent condition. We discovered later that he upholstery was actually seat covers, which we later replaced with front buckets and a rear seat from a Torino Sport.

The seller told us about the rust on the rear wheel wells which is very common in the 74-76 Torinos, but we didn't let it scare us away.

We drove 13 hours one way to view the Torino and after driving it, paid for it and started the 13 hour drive home after a short stop at Mall of America.
One hour down the road we pulled off the freeway to get gas and Arlene was rear ended while at the stop sign on the off ramp. You can see the crooked bumper in the picture at left. We were planning to replace the bumper with the one with pads and guards, but we weren't planning to replace the bumper support and isolator.
Bummer!!
